You were gone just three days after your third cancer diagnosis. You fought off bowel cancer then breast cancer but this one got you just a week before your first great grandchild arrived. You still had so much to live for. I will never stop missing my best friend, my much loved Mum.

10 years on and it still doesn’t seem real. Just expect to see your name on my phone when it rings sometimes, to still trying to call your old phone number when I’m drunk to have a chat and tell you how much I love you. This time two years ago I was preparing to spend the last fews weeks I ever could with my Dad & best mate. Even in the depths of it, every last moment gave me more reason to love him, to be proud of him, and to miss him. Until the very end he made me laugh (& took the mick!). We listened to music, talked about everything & nothing, looked back & even created amazing new memories. Life will never quite be the same, but what we shared whilst he lived can never be taken away. Love you Daddy Bear.
